Main features:

Interfaces to the decoder using USB:
- sets deocder to the desired mode (NOAA, METOP, Meteor, Fengyun)
- catches received data
- sends rotor position data (current decoder hardware can translate this into DiSEqC commands)
Displays received data while receiving and stores it to HD
read previous received data:
- horizontal linearizing
- use kepler data to add lon/lat lines
- some display features like channel mapping onto RGB
- for METOP/Fengyun: do reed solomon correction if not already done
Tracking:
- reads Kepler data from http://celestrak.com/NORAD/elements
- creates a list of next 10 passing satellites
- waits for first sat. to pass, tracks satellite, after going down switches to next satellite
- switches decoder to the right state

Built-in colour maps:

Notes for 2023.2

New satellites

Aqua, NOAA20 and NOAA21 are not yet supported in terms of data processing. Currently test data as generated via the hardware generator and decoder (see GODIL hardware loads) will be shown, but this is actually metop data format at aqua/noaa speed/coding.
"Real" data received will (should) be saved correctly, and may be processed by other software, like ???.

Possible High data rate problems

Data from NOAA20/21 and Aqua, shown 'live', may give speed problems, depending on your PC's speed. This is shown in the 3-digit display of the decoder, the right one; that should be empty during record. If it is flickering, showing repeatedly shortly 'F', then data transmission/processing is too slow.
This can be solved as follows:

Always use the Adafruit FT232H interface module, not the sparcfun 245.
In wsat, always choose USB fast (in preferences, tab 'Interface').
in Preferences, tab 'Record', uncheck 'Use Live wnd'.
This will show your 'Live' received data in the 'Viewer' tab of the main window.
This tab is much faster than the 'Live' tab, but misses some features.
Or in the Record window, under 'Advanced', increase 'draw every y lines'. You can do that 'Live', observing the mentioned right part of the LED display.
And/or in Preferences, tab 'Record', switch off 'Auto-shift', 'Auto zoom'. Note that switching them on will need more PC power as soon as the screen is filled!

IMPORTANT:

You need setup_wsat.exe AND setup_gtk20dll.exe.
For updating to a new release only setup_wsat.exe needs to be re-installed.
All files need to be installed into one directory.
Note: setup_gtk20dll.exe is common for all my programs, including xtrack and xrit2pic. So if all these programs are installed into one directory (which is the case by default) then you need to download/install just 1 time setup_gtk20dll.exe.
The setup will (re-)create an icon on your desktop. If you don't want that or if you changed properties of the icon then check:
"Don't create a Start Menu folder"
at the 'Select Start Menu Folder' stage during installation.
